One of the radios out of the "CONSOL-TONE"
trade name series by Zenith. Seems each had a
"nick name" hence this one is affectionately
referred to as the "Boomerang" from the shape
of the dial display.
The expensive Walnut cabinet choice is what made the
6D029 distinctive especially when it was released. It sold
for .95 in 1946 which would be 9.99 in 2021.
Anytime Hollywood used this radio as a prop in one
of it's 40's movies, it was used to decorate appropriately
in a mansion or expensive apartment.
The restoration on this radio is back to it's original look.
The chassis has been completely cleaned and overhauled
with new components installed where needed.
Plays with great "console-tone" quality with plenty
of volume.
Also.with the addition of the extra tube, the radio picks
up multiple radio stations across the dial.
What a great radio for a collector who appreciates
a radio restoration resulting in a "like new" appearance
as the main goal.  This radio would be in the top 1% of the
Zenith 6D029's in existence when compared to what is out
