    This keyboard was a
    BIG DEAL
    in addition to
    MIDI
when it was first introduced in 1983.
I was stationed in JAPAN at the time this came out and the local music stores were actively promoting the new FM (Frequency Modulated) technology in addition to their RX-11, RX-15 drum machines, QX-1, QX-7 sequencers, the DX-5, and DX-1 synthesizers along with a host of other high tech equipment.
If you ever have the chance to visit a Japanese Music or Stereo store, you will be blown away.
It was unbelievable what was available, even back then.
Well anyhow I'm selling my DX-7. It's in very good used shape and has no issues.
It is heavy, made of steel and built like a tank, unlike the subsequent DX7-S, DX-II,DX-7 FD, ETC.
The keys are all even as are the keystroke depths.  All faders, buttons, MIDI & functions all work just as they should.
The GREEN  DISPLAY is clean and bright.
I updated it some years ago and it really comes in handy.
It was very easy to install in case you ever need to change it.
Original 1983 DX7's did not come equipped with a back light.
I would give it close to an 8/10 even after all these years.
I believe you can get computer aided editing programs for this keyboard.
It's not very to easy to program, especially from scratch but the sounds can be very complex.
There are some real nice third party sounds available on either cartridge or disc.
The name Bo Tomlyn comes to mind as one of the best DX programmers back then.
    INCLUDED:
    (1)  Original DX-7 with GREEN BACK LIGHT.
    (1)  ROM Cartridge #3.
    (1)  RAM Cartridge (so you can store your own personal edited sounds).
The cartridges show some visible age wear.
    BONUS
    :
    Includes
    3
FREE Comprehensive and very helpful DX7 Books to assist you
in programming and learning about the the DX-7.
