    Vintage Japanese Kashigata Mold TORTOISE SHELL 1.7" x 5.2" x 1.2" #TS02
    This hand carved wooden culinary molds are called KASHIGATA in Japan. It was used as mold for making Wagashi(sweets).
    This vintage Kashigata mold was made by one of the skilled craftsman. At present, there are only several craftsmen all over Japan who are making Kashigata.
    These molds are made with many kinds of chisels to describe three-dimensional shapes of motifs like fish or flowers. The difficult point is that the mold's left and right become reversed when it is used for sweets. Kashigata craftsman says that  "we are required to have high skills but also high imagination, patience and passion."
