This is an unmarked vintage silver mounted stainless steel bit with a straight bar half breed port curb featuring a copper roller mouthpiece and beautifully engraved Cavalry "S" style shanks.
The shanks measure 8 inches long with a 2-1/2 inch purchase for a 3.2 to 1 leverage ratio.  The tapered mouthpiece measures 5 inches wide by 3/8 inches in diameter.  The half breed style port is 2-1/8 inch tall by 1-1/4 inches wide with a solid copper roller.  This heavy bit weighs in at 1 pound 8 ounces and demonstrates great balance.
This great vintage silver California Vaquero style bit will make a great addition to your bit collection and you might even find that your horse likes it too!
