    BEAUTIFUL EXTREMELY RARE 18TH CENTURY GEORGIAN 18CT GOLD MOUNTED FOX FAUX TORTOISESHEL SNUFF BOX
    Circa 1770
    This is a very fine quality Beautiful Extremely Rare George III 18th century 18ct Gold mounted with a central 18ct Gold Fox oval faux TORTOISESHELL Snuff Box, this rare snuff box i would estimate dates to circa 1770 making it nea
    rly 250 years old, the quality is stunning and the decoration is breath taking, the top of the oval snuff box has been crafted in a wonderful faux TORTOISESHELL with the most breath taking 18ct Gold Mounted Fox to the centre that has so much fine detailing from his wonderful fur coat and bushy tail, he has the most delightful face with a pointed nose and ears, this is then framed with a thick banding of 18ct Gold which has a smooth finish, this also has an 18ct Gold Hinge and gold thumb piece, this contrasts beautifully against the rich colours of the faux shell,
    the gold inlay creates a suberb ornate pictorial image, this is so very special, on turning this rare snuff box over you will now see again faux TORTOISESHELL with a delicate curve to the body,
    the colours of the faux Tortoiseshell dance with deep rich browns and oranges, its stunning, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb,
    this would have once belonged to a very wealthy 18th Century Gentleman and sat proudly on the table top ready to be used, this was many many years ago when times were so very different, if this snuff box could talk i can just imagine what fascinating stories it could tell, this snuff box is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel. This will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice.
