    Description

Antique Sterling Silver Jewelry Dresser Box or Cigarette Case.
The Box has English sterling lion marks. It was made by William Comyns & Sons in London in 1913.
    The box measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 2 5/8" and weighs 29 oz or 823 grams in total.
This box is NOT weighted. No metal or heavy glue inserts. The bottom is just felted wood. The four lined sides consist of two small felted wood pieces and mostly felted cardboard. The lid is lined just felted cardboard.
My estimated weight of sterling silver is about 700 grams.
The box has polka dot patterns and the surface has rose gold gilt. The lid top lost most of its gold gilt. The four sides retain some or  most of their gold gilt. This box is well made. It has thick wall of sterling. Heavy and solid construction.
The box is in excellent condition. From side view under light reflection, I can see 2 or 3 small shallow dings or dents on lid top, hardly visible from top view. No other dings or dents. No damage or repair. The lid closes fully, evenly, easily and tightly. Interior blue felts are intact and relatively clean. Can be used as is or cleaned further as needed.
Monogrammed PB or BP (?) on top. Can be professionally removed/re-monogrammed because the lid was made of very thick sterling silver.
An antique sterling box in such large size and nice condition looks great on a desk or Dresser. Useful, displayble and presentable.
