Capehart AM / FM Tube Radio, model 1005

Description

Capehart AM / FM Tube Radio, model 1005. Pulled from a cabinet that was beyond repair. I cleaned the pots and ran it up on a variac, and there is significant hum, so I was thinking the filter caps are going. The FM came in very good - and without the antenna! The AM did not come in, but a 6J6 is marked as 'bad tube' on the chassis, so your guess is as good as mine on that one. If I put in more time on this, I'm keeping it! ^_^ Update: I had the tube tester out and I tested the 6J6. It is way good. So there you go.
Condition is "Used", as-is, for parts. Look at the bottom pic. All those wax capacitors, even if they're working now, need to be replaced. The electrolytics are probably all bad. My current limited power supply says there's no shorts today, but this is a project radio with a lot of deferred maintenance to do. Strictly as-is, no returns. You are warned. ^_<
