This is a 2 3/4" long 19th century antique vintage 1896 Victorian MAPPIN BROTHERS Sterling Silver gold gilt center scroll work flowers repousse antiqued finish ruffled edges hinged snuff trinket box in excellent condition with no dings or dents, no gilt wear, the hinge works well.  It is 2 3/4 inches by 1 3/8 inches with a 5/8 inch depth, it weighs 31.2 grams or 1.1 ounces, it is signed MAPPIN BROTHERS 220 REGENT ST W, M over BROS in a lozenge, the lion passant hallmark, city of Chester hallmark, N for year of 1896 hallmark.  It is an antique vintage detailed British sterling and gilt figural beauty in great condition!
